The Storm Windows today release a new version of their Americana anthem (as a single and YouTube video) "AMERICA 250 (4 Freedoms Version)"

NEW YORK, NY and BURLINGTON, VT, March 20, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Following on from the successful release on February 13 of AMERICA 250 (GSHGOT), today The Storm Windows release a new version of the song, AMERICA 250 (4 Freedoms Version), which includes (public domain) outtakes of FDR's historic Four Freedoms address to Congress on January 6, 1941 and adds a new dimension to the recording.

AMERICA 250 (4 Freedoms Version) celebrates (and reflects on) America's 250th birthday. The song delivers a panoramic view of the American experience – past, present and towards the future – as the country approaches its 250th birthday. The song is meant as a celebration of the resilience of the America ethos, but also an acknowledgement that the promise is still an aspiration.

Accolades of the prior release include:

"Every line flows with a rhythm that feels simultaneously conversational and hymn-like, allowing the song's message of hope, continuity, and shared heritage to land with genuine resonance." - Duloxi

"High Octane Americana" – Apricot Magazine

"Thoughtful, tuneful, and clear-eyed, as an anthem that knows the country's promise is still unfinished business." – Illustrate Magazine

As of today, links to the single are available on all your favorite social media platforms. Below are a YouTube link to the video and a Soundcloud link to the new single:

About The Storm Windows

The Storm Windows are comprised of brothers Rob Mathews (guitar and vocals) and Don Mathews (upright bass and vocals) and drummer Erik Anderson. They perform frequently in Upstate New York and Vermont as a "Power-Folk" trio. Recently Spin Magazine called the trio's live performance the "Folk Ramones."

The Storm Windows play both showcases and bar gigs, and always have a few of each lined up. The band takes their name The Storm Windows from a song title of one of their musical heroes, John Prine, but also as an appropriate description of some veteran musicians who have weathered a few storms but are still standing and singing about it. Critics have labeled their music "New Americana – a blend of folk, rock and even jazz laced sonics."

The single follows the 2025 summer release of the new studio EP "More Lucky", a set of anthems that convey a message of hope tinged with a yearning for something better, and the promise of the road to try to find it.
