Commissioner of Canada Elections announces 16 administrative monetary penalties and an undertaking for Canada Elections Act violations

GATINEAU, QC, Feb. 13, 2026 /CNW/ - The Commissioner of Canada Elections (CCE), Caroline J. Simard, announced today the publication of formal measures of compliance to address violations under the Canada Elections Act (the Act).

To maintain transparency, and as required by the Act, details related to these measures are published on the CCE's website.

Notices of violation imposing 16 AMPs were issued to 6 individuals for contravening rules related to voting more than once and for failing to comply with political financing and reporting requirements.

The CCE also accepted an undertaking from a former minister for illegal non-monetary contributions made to a political party in the context of a 2024 by-election.
